Starting a YouTube channel : Tips!

So, I have been on YouTube for about a year now and I currently do gaming videos (Minecraft). Personally, I have always been inspired by other you-tubers to start a channel so i did so, although i'm not a big you-tuber i have 250+ subscribers, which i'm proud of either way. Anyway, getting onto the tips now, all the way through being a you-tuber I found many simple but great ways to become bigger and improve your channel etc...

Tip 1: Before starting your channel plan out...
-What your channel is going to be (gaming, beauty, tutorials videos)
 - Who will be your target audience.
 - Your goals and what you want to achieve
 - And finally you need to question yourself, do you have to commit to you-tuber and video making?.

Tip 2: You need to think of a name, here are a few tips:
 - Think of a unique name, maybe what resembles your channel and/or your personality.
 - Try not to add numbers because if you do become a big you-tuber one day it may be harder to      remember.
 - Make your name catchy and bold; something that strikes out from the crowd, therefor it would be  easy.
 - Finally, make sure its not taken on you-tuber, which i'm sure its not, if its unique and catchy!

Tip 3: Making your first video!
 - Personally, I would suggest that you make a 'welcome to my channel' video, not only does this get a lot of views, but other channels offer a sub for sub system which helps out when your small.
 - In your video, you could add what your channels about, what you want to achieve and the types of videos you are expecting to post on your channel.
 - You could make a small slideshow/movie (a easy editing software is windows movie maker) or some footage off you with yourself talking or maybe with a voice over.

Tip 4: Equipment!
-From my personal experiences, you really don't need to get the latest, most expensive  equipment.
-You don't need to spend a lot on your equipment if you don't have it already, for example, you could get a cheap starter microphone for £2-5.
 - Also remember, some of the cheap equipment can be great quality.
 - Finally, when it comes to editing, if you want a easy and free editing software I would suggest 'Windows movie maker', which should be installed already with any windows computer/laptop you have.

Tip 5: Start your channel!
-At the start it will be tough, but eventually you will see the difference and improvement.
-Make sure your committed, inform your audience of a schedule or when you will upload.
 - Make friends with in your community and do some collabs with others to boost your views and subscribers.
-Finally, when you feel that your channels grown a lot create social media pages, to help with advertisement and you keeping your viewers up to date with everything. For example, create accounts on Facebook and/or Instagram.
